ZGS Communications is a Hispanic-owned broadcasting company, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia with interest in local Spanish-language television, radio and web properties.

      Industry Pioneers

ZGS Communications was founded in 1983 as a television production company with $200 and a rented video camera. ZGS was the first to produce Spanish-language programming for the Spanish International Network (SIN) now Univision, and soon developed into an award winning multicultural marketing and advertising agency receiving numerous Emmys and honored by the White House. During its tenure as an advertising agency ZGS was regarded as one of the premier agencies in effectively reaching the rapidly growing Hispanic market.

      Local Broadcasting

In the late 1980s ZGS recognized a unique opportunity in Spanish-language television to serve the Hispanic community. They purchased their first Class A television station in Lubbock, Texas and expanded into the broadcasting industry. ZGS built a broadcasting company station by station acquiring its first Telemundo affiliate station in Tampa in 1990. ZGS is now the largest affiliate owner and operator of Telemundo stations with regional clusters of stations in the Northeast including Boston, Hartford, Providence, and Springfield; the Mid-Atlantic including Philadelphia and Washington, DC; the Southeast including Ft. Myers-Naples, Orlando and Tampa; and the West including El Paso, Fresno and San Antonio. The company has grown significantly in the past five years entering into a strategic alliance with Telemundo and acquiring and operating new full-power stations. ZGS also owns three Spanish-language radio stations serving Washington, DC and Tampa.

ZGS is the sum of its local communities. As an established and effective community broadcaster, the Station Group delivers high quality local news, educational, community and variety programming. Through community partnerships, educational programming and signature grassroots events, ZGS strives to empower and enhance the lives of Hispanics.

      Today and Tomorrow

In 2009 ZGS launched holaciudad! an easy to use and engaging local Spanish-language web portal with a truly Hispanic point of view. It is a fun, reliable and friendly resource that offers users and partners a unique online experience. holaciudad! features current events, local news, entertainment, finance, sports, lifestyle, autos and weather; as well as services such as local calendar of events, city guides, classifieds, games, chats and community boards. By the end of the year holaciudad! will have a presence across the United States in all ZGS markets and beyond.
